Seeking Candidates to Fill Vacancy

November 13, 2017 - The Board of Education is seeking candidates to temporarily fill a vacant seat on the Board after Mr. Kisselburgh recently resigned for personal reasons. The temporary appointment will expire on May 15, 2018; however, the interim Board member can choose to run for election to the Board (and complete the term through June 30, 2019 if elected).

Anyone interested in serving the school district as an interim Board member should send a letter of interest to Leslie Coons, Clerk of the Board, Hudson City School District, 215 Harry Howard Avenue, Hudson, NY 12534 or by email at coonslx@hudsoncsd.org. The deadline for consideration is Thursday, December 14, 2017.

If you submit a letter of interest, please be prepared to attend the first portion of the Board of Education meeting on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hudson Senior High School library so that the Board can meet the candidates before deciding on an appointment. 


Board of Education Retreat

Monday, November 20, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. - Board Retreat in the Hudson Senior High School Library for the purpose of Executive Session to discuss financial forecasting as it relates to contract negotiations. The motion to go into the executive session is open to the public, however the executive session is not open to the public.

Public Notice of Financial Statements

Notice is hereby given that the fiscal affairs of the Hudson City School District for the period beginning on July 1, 2015 and ending on June 30, 2016, have been examined by an independent public accountant, and that the report of, or management letter prepared in conjunction with the external audit by the independent public accountant has been filed in my office where it is available as a public record for inspection by all interested persons.  Pursuant to §35 of the General Municipal law, the governing board of the Hudson City School District has, in its discretion, prepared a written response to the report of external audit or management letter by the independent public accountant and filed such response in my office as a public record for inspection by all interested persons.

News 2016-17

Meet the new BOE members

(May 23, 2016) - Board of Education candidates Linda Hopkins and Sumayyah Shabazz have been elected to the Hudson CSD school board. Based on the number of votes for each candidate, Hopkins received the 5-year term (with 483 votes) and Shabazz received the 3-year term (with 411 votes).

Voters had the option to write-in a third candidate to serve on the Board of Education. With 93 write-in votes, Willette Jones received the third, partial-term seat.

Change in BOE Meeting Location

Board of Education meetings will now be held in the Hudson High School library. Residents are encouraged to park in the north parking lot (by the electronic sign) and enter through the door by the parking lot. Signs will be posted.
