ELA Curriculum
The State Education Department requires schools entering the Corrective Action phase to have an External School Curriculum Audit (ESCA). An ESCA was conducted of the K-6 ELA curriculum by the Orion Educational Consulting firm in the spring of 2010. Costs associated with the ESCA were fully funded by a grant awarded by the State Education Department for this purpose. Recommendations are to be incorporated into the Montgomery C. Smith’s Intermediate School’s 2010-2011 Comprehensive Education Plan.
As the report states in several places, “we are generally on the right track with much work to be done”. We thank all of the participating administrators, teachers and staff members for their input. We recognize that we have much to be proud of!
