Resolution to reimburse new substitutes for fingerprinting passed by Board
At the January 25th meeting of the HCSD Board of Education, the Board passed a resolution to reimburse the fingerprinting fee for new employees who apply to be substitutes.
After working five times, any new substitute employees (teachers, teacher assistants and aides, and kitchen substitutes) can complete a reimbursement form and then be reimbursed by a separate check, free of taxes, for the full amount of the fingerprinting fee.

Per the federal healthcare reform law (Affordable Care Act):
All employees who are currently enrolled in the District’s medical and/or Rx benefits are to receive a “Summary of Benefits & Coverage” (SBC) for the plan in which they are enrolled during open enrollment (OE). All employees enrolled with Express Scripts for prescription drug benefits would receive two SBCs – one for the medical coverage and one for the drug coverage.
All currently-enrolled employees also have the right to receive an SBC for all other plans for which they are eligible.
