Scholarships

Daisy V. Alstork Memorial Scholarship:  any minority student in the Class of 2017.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline to Guidance is May 19, 2017.

Upstage Productions Scholarship:  must have demonstrated an appreciation for the performing arts and displayed service toward school and community during their high school years. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline to Guidance is April 24, 2017.

Columbia County Sportsmen's Federation Skip Harkowa Scholarship Award:  must be a resident of Columbia County, have been accepted by a college/university for the Fall of 2017 which MUST be submitted with the application, and be acitve in environmental conservation programs and/or be an active hunter, fisherman, trapper, archer or competitive shooter.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline to Guidance is April 26, 2017.

The Dick Nelson Outdoor Sports Journalism Scholarship:  must be a resident of Columbia County, have been accepted by a college/university for the Fall of 2017 which MUST be submitted with the application, and be active in outdoor sports programs with a goal of becoming a sports writer.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline to Guidance is April 26, 2017.

William B. Wrigley III Scholarship:  a senior who plans to further his/her education in  the field of law enforcement or the military.  Applications available in Guidance.  Deadline to Guidance is May 15, 2017.

George W. Oliver Jr. Scholarship:  a senior who plans to further his/her education in the field of law enforcement.  Applications available in Guidance.  Deadline to Guidance is May 15, 2017.

Paul Jorgensen Scholarship:  must demonstrate exemplary achievement in the fields of mathematics and science, display qualities of excellent character, service toward school and community, and leadership.  Applications are available in the Guidance office.  Deadline to Guidance is May 12, 2017.

Neil Howard Scholarship:  any senior eligible.  Applications are available in the Guidance office. Deadline to Guidance is May 12, 2017.  

HVCC Scholarhips for Incoming Students:  if you applied or are applying to HVCC for the Fall of 2017.  Applications are available in Guidance or on-line at www.hvcc.edu/scholarships/incoming.pdf, Applications must be submitted no later than March 17, 2017

NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction):  must be a female in the senior class, attending an accredited college in the Fall of 2017 pursuing a career in a construction-related field of study(construction, construction management, architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, electrical engineering, etc).  Applications are available in Guidance.  Deadline to Guidance is April 12, 2017.

American Society of Civil Engineers Mohawk-Hudson Section Scholarship:  must be continuing your education with the goal and desire of becoming a practicing civil engineer.  Applications available in Guidance.  Deadline to Guidance is March 28, 2017.

Joe Maben Memorial Scholarship Fund:  must be an athlete who has displayed superior citizenship both in and outside of the athletic arena, as well as, being an active member in the community.  Applications are available in Guidance.  Deadline is May 16, 2017.

Paul and Maria Morra Scholarship Trust:  must be a resident of Columbia or Greene County, attending college or trade school in the Fall of 2017, and pursuing further academic work in the field of horticulture, agriculture, forestry or natural resources.  Applications available in Guidance.Deadline to Guidance is March 29.

Capital District NYS Society of Professional Engineers Scholarship:  must be attending an engineering program at a university/college that has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.  Applications available in Guidance.  Deadline to Guidance is March 4.

CCATS (Columbia County Association of Town Superintendents) Scholarship:  must be a resident of Columbia County for at least 2 years prior to graduation, and have been accepted by an accredited college in the field of engineering or the physical sciences.  Applications available in Guidance.  Deadline to Guidance is April 26.

Irving Flaumenbaum Memorial Scholarship:  any senior whose parent is a CSEA member. Applications available in Guidance.  Deadline to Guidance is April 11.

2017 Excellence in Nursing Scholarship:  must be a high school senior in Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster or Westchester counties and pursing a career in nursing.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications must be postmarked by February 10, 2017.

NY CREDIT UNION ASSOCIATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP:  student must be a member in good standing at a NYS credit union.  Applications available in Guidance.  Deadline to the credit union is December 30, 2016.

FASNY (Firemen's Association of the State of New York) Gerard J. Buckenmeyer Scholarship:  applicants must be a member in good standing of FASNY or have a parent/legal guardian who is a member, enrolled in college/university for the Fall of 2017, serve as a current junior firefighter, Explorer Scout or RAM in a group affiliated with a volunteer department; a volunteer firefighter; or a volunteer with an EMS unit, and demonstrate a commitment to both the volunteer emergency service and the community.  Applications are available in the Guidance Department.  Applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2017.

The Michah 6:8 Student Award:  applicants must be a graduating senior, a member of a faith community which is part of the Hudson Interfaith Council or is located within the Hudson School District, in his/her activities at school and/or within the larger community, worked to promote goodness and justice.  Applications are available in the Guidance Department.  Application deadline is January 9, 2017.

HMRRC/Bill Shrader, Sr. Memorial Scholarship:  for a senior who has participated in track or cross country at their current school, plan on attending college full-time for the Fall of 2017, and plans to continue to participate in track or cross country.  Applications are available in the Guidance Department.  Deadline to Guidance is March 27, 2017.

New York Rural Water Association Scholarship:  for a senior whose water system is through Town of Greenport/City of Hudson.  Applications are available in the Guidance Department.  Deadline to Guidance is February 6, 2017.

Phi Delta Kappa Prospective Educator Scholarship:  for a senior who intends to attend college and major in education.  Applications are available in the Guidance Department.  Deadline to Guidance is February 15, 2017.

The Amy Bindelglass Memorial Scholarship:  must be a Junior or Senior and must address all the components of the scholarship challenge.  Applications are available in the Guidance Department.  Deadline to Guidance is March 27, 2017.

 

Online Scholarships

Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation Scholarships:  there are scholarships available to Hudson City School District students.  To apply go on-line to www.berkshiretaconic.org/scholarships, then go to search for scholarships by school district.  

Uel Wade Music Scholarship:  ALL high school students are eligible.  To apply go to www.uelwade.org.  Deadline to apply is April 9, 2017.

CG Trader Scholarship:  eligibility requirements are must be a high school senior, and have a 2.5 overall GPA (80>).  You will be writing an essay on "The future of technology in education".  Apply at www.cgtrader.com/scholarships.  Submission deadline is June 1, 2017.

New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs and New York Sate Showpeople's Association Scholarship:  available to high school seniors who are NYS residents and who are currently or have previously been activie in a fair that is a member of the NYSSAAF or the NYSSA. For applcation and a list of member fairs go to www.nyfairs.org.  Application deadline is April 10, 2017.

Farm Credit East Scholarship:  students must be pursuing an education at the college level leading to a career in agriculture, commercial fishing or the forest products industry.  Applcations are available at FarmCreditEast.com/Scholarship. Application deadline is April 5, 2017.

Women-in-Technology Scholarship:  must be a female high school senior seeking a career in computer science and/or computer programming.  Applications are available at studysoup.com/women-in-technology-scholarship.  Application deadline is May 5, 2017.

Distinguished Young Women Scholarship (Class of 2018):  if you're a female, involved in school and/or community activites, outstanding in academics, leadership, athletics OR the arts, and interested in earning scholarships for college this is for you.  Go to www.DistinguishedYW.org. Deadline is March 17, 2017.

NYWEA (New York Water Environment Association):  a non-profit educational organization of water professionals promoting sustainable clean water quality management through science, education and training.  They offer (1) $10,000 Environmental Career Scholarship, (1) $5,000 Nicholas J. Bartilucci Scholarship, and (12) $2,500 Scholarships.  Go to nywea.org/scholarship for further details and online applilcations.  Scholarship deadline is February 28, 2017.

Berkshire Bank Scholarship:  a high school senior who attends high school in a city or town served by Berkshire Bank, has a record of community service, has a minimum GPA of 3.0 (83-86), gross family income <$75,000, and plans to attend a 2 or 4 year college or technical school in the Fall of 2017.  To apply go to www.berkshirebank.com/scholarships.  Application deadline is March 22, 2017 at 4:00pm.

SEFCU Scolarships:  student applying must be the primary member  on a SEFCU account.  Email marketing@sefcu.com to request an application packet.  The application deadline is December 30, 2016.

  • John Ilacqua Memorial Scholarship - a one time $2,500 scholarship for a high school senior planning to attend Siena College, 
  • Smart Sense Schiolarship - a one time $1,000 scholarship to all high school seniors who are SEFCU members.
  • New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA) Scholarships - $500 and $1,000 scholarships for high school seniors.
