Animal Presenter Visits Science Classes
Dean Davis, animal presenter, visited Ms. Doto’s and Mrs. Grener’s Science classes.
One presentation was called Animals Nobody Loves (invertebrates to mammals). In this program he defused common myths about animals and nature. He discussed food chain/food pyramid concepts and adaptations. The presentation included a tarantula, scorpion, giant toad, lizards, snakes, turtles and more.
A second presentation was called NYS Reptiles and Amphibians. During this program, Dean discussed what lives in our own back yards. Many people shun these animals, or just pay no attention to them, but they are an important part of our local ecology. This was a myth destroying, upbeat conservation program showing how successful we are at protecting our varied wildlife in NY.
