Class of 2016 wins awards

Class of 2016 awardsStudents in the Class of 2016 have been presented with the following recognitions from their guidance counselors Rocky Payne and Liz Novine recently at Hudson Senior High School.

Kody Pinkowski received the Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology for possessing a strong interest in the   information technology field and a high level of achievement in this area with an exposure to new technologies outside of school. 

Daniel Gelles was presented with the University of Rochester Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award for demonstrating a commitment to understanding and addressing difficult social issues with leadership and dedication to community action and strong grades and rigorous courses taken in the humanities and social sciences.

James Chaplin earned the Elmira Key Award in recognition of high scholastic achievement, leadership, citizenship and participation in extracurricular activities and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal Award for outstanding academic achievement in the study of mathematics and science.

Jenifer Rosete-Garcia received the RPI Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award for high achievement and rigor in science classes and high PSAT math and/or SAT Math scores.

Ramisa Tasnim was presented the Elmira Key Award in recognition of her high scholastic achievement, leadership, citizenship and participation in extracurricular activities.

Lauren Bowes and Michaela Gomula each were presented with Student Sage Scholar Awards for being academic and social leaders and active in their community. 

Olivia Waldron received the Wells College 21st Century Leadership Award for exerting a positive influence in her school and community and demonstrating the characteristics of ethical leadership and trustworthiness, self-confidence and intellect.
